A peaceful and gentle place.

Mu Cang Chai itinerary
Mu Cang Chai is not too vast; traveling for 1 - 2 days is enough to briefly go through all the famous spots and glance around the villages. The roads around here are not very beautiful except for the main road, and the paths up to the high mountains are still very bad. Especially due to the weather, every rainy season up here brings constant landslides, making the roads even worse. But it doesn't mean this place is any less beautiful at all.
We handle everything — sleeper bus, homestays, meals, motorbikes, and a local driver who actually knows the roads. You just show up and enjoy the ride.

Photos I took. View and praise.
Unlike Ha Giang or Sapa where tourist VIP cabin buses are quite popular, traveling to Mu Cang Chai mostly still relies on buses from other provinces passing through to Lai Chau, or privately chartered limousines.

This is a type of vehicle that seats 9 - 10 people per car, featuring quite comfortable reclining seats. People can search for carpooling information on Facebook groups, or if a group of friends has enough people, they can rent an entire car to take control of their schedule. This is probably the most comfortable choice if you want to travel to Mu Cang Chai.

Because this is a standard passenger bus type, mostly unregistered/illegal buses, its operation is very messy. Even if you call ahead to reserve a spot, getting a sleeper bed when boarding is a matter of luck, especially during peak seasons like the ripe rice season. If the bus is empty, there is a high chance you will end up lying down next to a bunch of shipped goods, and the travel time will also be extended by another 2 - 3 hours because the bus is busy loading and unloading items.

Highlights
Before coming to Mu Cang Chai, I didn't expect much, but after going, I found myself liking this place a lot. The scenery from Tu Le to Mu Cang Chai is completely beautiful even though I went in winter; the rice fields were completely bare, so it brought out a different kind of beauty compared to the rice season.

Mu Cang Chai is not a place for those who like bustling activities, nor is it strictly a place for exploration. There is nothing to 'play' here in Mu Cang Chai; there are not many coffee shops, and even less so in the evening, and the area is also small. Coming here, you will visit villages (within a 20km radius) and climb mountains to admire the forests. Mu Cang Chai is most famous for its paragliding activity 'Flying over the Golden Season'. Every year in early September, a paragliding festival is organized to stimulate tourism, which is also the most beautiful season when the rice ripens to a golden yellow. The flight point starts at the top of Khau Pha pass and lands in Tu Le, I believe.
